JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client, a well-established industrial manufacturer, is seeking a Plant Controller to oversee financial operations at their flagship Pennsylvania plant. This is a highly visible role supporting a complex, high-volume manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in cost accounting, inventory controls, and direct experience in heavy manufacturing environments.
Salary:
$160,000-$190,000

Plant Controller Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/CMA preferred. 8+ years of progressive experience in finance/accounting, with at least 3 years in a plant controller or assistant controller capacity. Must have heavy manufacturing or industrial plant exposure. Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar). Strong knowledge of GAAP, inventory controls, and cost accounting principles. Comfortable working in a hands-on, plant-floor-driven environment.
Plant Controller Responsibilities:
Lead all accounting operations for the plant, including month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Analyze production costs, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variances to support decision-making. Partner with plant management and corporate leadership to drive performance and financial transparency. Oversee internal controls, fixed asset tracking, and capital project accounting. Manage standard costing, labor/overhead analysis, and identify areas for operational improvement. Ensure SOX or other compliance requirements are met and documented appropriately. Support internal/external audits and continuous process improvements. #
