Assistant Controller 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Cheraw, SC 29520 Assistant Controller Position Overview This position will be responsible for assisting the Controller in managing the financial operations of the company, including financial reporting, budgeting and compliance. Assisting in the preparation and posting of journal entries, analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts and other accounting tasks necessary to produce accurate and timely financial reports.

Responsibilities:

Perform detailed, monthly reconciliations of the general ledger. Prepare and post monthly journal entries. Create and prepare monthly financial reports as required for reporting. Research and resolve discrepancies, as necessary within a timely manner to ensure integrity of entries. Support and perform A/P activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice entries. Preform regularly scheduled bank statements reconciliations. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations for improvement. Assist in the preparation for audits. Assist department with all additional requests as requested. Perform other projects, tasks and duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required. Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting or Finance. Attention to detail, accuracy and problem-solving skills. Strong knowledge of GAAP. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Maintain positive and helpful working relationships with co-workers and other functional areas throughout the company.
