Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a contract basis in Greenville, South Carolina. This role requires a hands-on individual who is comfortable managing high-volume legal billing and overseeing financial operations. Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of seven, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Staff Accounting.
• Manage month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial statements.
• Oversee high-volume legal billing operations and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
• Handle day-to-day accounting functions, including budgeting and auditing tasks.
• Work across multiple accounting systems to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
• Provide detailed analysis of financial statements and reports, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data while maintaining adherence to industry regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to address challenges and implement improvements in financial operations.
• Roll up your sleeves and dive into operational details when needed to resolve issues or optimize workflows. Requirements
• Proven experience in accounting functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and financial statement preparation.
• Familiarity with high-volume billing processes, preferably in the legal industry.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software systems; experience with Aderant is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close and prepare audited financial statements.
• Expertise in analyzing financial statements and identifying actionable insights.
• Ability to work across multiple systems and adapt quickly to new technologies.
• Excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage and mentor a team effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in financial operations.
