Full Job Description Department:

Administration Reports to: Controller Job Summary The Assistant Controller is responsible for supporting the Controller in the overall financial management and operations of the Club. This role involves a wide range of accounting and financial responsibilities, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Assist the Controller in developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures. Oversee the general ledger accounting process, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Coordinate and assist with data entry of monthly Food and Beverage inventory. Work with the Merchandise Manager to understand and review monthly Golf inventory for accuracy. Support accounting staff, understanding each role and assist in training and execution of duties. Reconcile GL accounts monthly. Support controller in overall cash flow analysis and reconciliation. Monitor bank ACH and other electronic transactions daily. Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and reporting requirements. Assist in accounts payable and receivable functions as needed. Conduct bi-weekly payroll processing in conjunction with the Human Resources Manager. Assist with the annual audit process. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy. Serve as a backup to the Controller in presentation of financials to Club leadership. Assist Controller with special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

Three years minimum experience in a related financial role is required while a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred. This role will require strong communication skills both written and verbal, and strong attention to detail. The Assistant Controller should possess an analytical thought process, have experience with inventory processes and is preferred to have experience in leadership.

Other requirements include:

Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business policies and procedures. Must have the ability to write simple reports and generate detailed spreadsheets. This person must also be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, and members. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Must have the ability to problem solve quickly on the job. Must be able to understand instructions furnished in written and oral form.
