is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Controller to oversee and manage all aspects of our organization’s financial operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) , the Controller will be responsible for planning and directing financial policies, managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance, and driving fiscal efficiency across the organization. This key leadership role will oversee the Accounting, Billing, and Purchasing Departments. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership Direct all accounting functions including payroll, purchasing, accounts receivable/payable, billing, collections, and general accounting. Lead the preparation of financial statements, annual budgets, tax filings (including IRS Form 990), and financial audits. Ensure accurate, timely grant reporting and cost report submissions. Implement reliable financial forecasting tools and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Ensure compliance with GAAP and all regulatory agencies. Team Management Supervise, recruit, and train accounting and billing staff, fostering professional growth and team cohesion. Establish performance metrics and ensure operational efficiency across departments. Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Compliance & Oversight Maintain compliance with HIPAA, federal, state, and local laws. Oversee relationships with auditors, tax authorities, grant agencies, and third-party administrators. Ensure the proper administration of the organization’s 401(k) plan and other benefit-related reporting. Strategic Planning Lead budget development and work closely with department heads to align financial strategies with organizational goals. Drive decision-making with meaningful financial analysis and insights. Develop and refine business processes to support growth and operational excellence. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MBA preferred. Experience in healthcare finance, including third-party reimbursement and regulatory compliance. Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Proven success in managing audits, budgets, and grants in a healthcare setting. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and external stakeholders. Core Competencies High attention to detail in a multi-tasking environment.
