Director, Financial Analytics and Systems Location:

Spartanburg, SC, United States Description Summary/Objective
The Director has responsibility for the Finance Analytics and Strategy Team (FAST) and the Finance Systems team. FAST provides analytic and quantitative support for all areas of Finance. Specialists in customer data, they are to go-to experts for data on customer accounts for securitization and pledging, profitability analysis, reserves modeling, fair value modeling, capital markets analyses and financial reporting. The team acts as internal management consultants to solve real business problems. You’ll go beyond basic predictions and partner with business leaders to maximize performance of our loan portfolio, minimize risk and losses, and identify key leverage points to drive efficiencies. The Finance Systems team has key responsibility for our General Ledger system, Workday, and other systems. Responsibilities include system administration, updates, testing, etc. As a core member of our Finance Leadership team, you’ll utilize your business acumen and ability to connect data to financial outcomes to lead teams to uncover insights, build solutions, and influence business direction. Essential Functions

Familiarity and comfort with modeling financial instruments and performance Lead teams to analyze large amounts of structured and unstructured data using database querying and analytical tools such as complex liability cash flow (securitization) modeling, company ROA models, allowance/reserves analytics, tax modeling and ad-hoc financial reporting. Leverage R, Python, SQL, Tableau, and other quantitative analytical platforms to extract and manipulate large datasets, as well as to develop, analyze, validate and deploy predictive models. Partner with business leaders across functional areas, including Operations, Legal, Compliance, Information Technology, Vendor Management, and Finance to develop analytical tools. Leverage statistical models and collaborate closely with technology and business groups to analyze operational feasibility, implementation, and production integration; monitor performance and determine when it is appropriate/necessary to update/refresh. Proactively identify enhancements and improve performance of our ledger system. Present and succinctly communicate financial modeling results to non-finance audiences, executives, etc. Coach and develop a team of direct reports. Qualifications
8+ years of relevant work experience including leading and developing highly technical team members
4+ years in a leadership role
BS degree or higher in Business, Statistics, or a related analytical field, Master degree is a plus
Exceptional written and verbal communication with the specific ability to convey technical results to non-technical audiences.
Experience developing analytic talent and developing their skills and career paths
Solid financial and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to problem solve
Strong experience analyzing trends, variances, and other performance measures Supervisory Responsibility
This position may supervise Managers and Analysts in the Finance department. Work Environment and Physical Demands
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position generally working a Monday through Friday 8 am – 5 pm schedule. Travel
Up to 15% travel may be needed in this role.
