Financial Director Position Available In Spartanburg, South Carolina

We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Director of Finance to oversee daily financial operations and drive continuous improvement in a mission-driven, down-to-earth environment. The ideal candidate brings 7-10 years of broad-based accounting and finance experience, including supervisory responsibilities. Candidates should be comfortable leading process improvements, implementing systems, and working independently to support organizational goals and free leadership to focus on strategic initiatives. Experience in healthcare, non-profits, or HUD accounting is a plus, but not required.

Job Duties:

Lead daily accounting and finance operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all functions. Drive process improvement initiatives and system implementations to enhance operational efficiency. Provide financial oversight and reporting to support organizational leadership and strategic decision-making. Supervise and develop accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and detail-oriented team culture. Serve as a proactive, independent contributor capable of managing priorities with minimal oversight. Partner with leadership to free up executive bandwidth for strategic projects and long-term planning. Maintain strong internal controls and support audit readiness and regulatory compliance. Contribute to a values-driven, blue-collar culture with a humble, team-first mindset. HUD, nonprofit, and healthcare experience preferred but not required.
