Plant Controller Position Available In York, South Carolina

Plant Controller Major Recruitment Bowling Green, SC Our client, a multinational regulated manufacturing company is looking for a strong Plant Controller / Cost Accountant to act as a business partner to the Plant Manager to impact expansion projects, operational excellence and putting in place holistic finance processes. As a SAP user and analyst, you will communicate and report on technical operational efficiency and metrics of production to make sure the plant operates to the highest standards similar to the global subsidiary plants.

Responsibilities:

Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of cost accounting records and internal reports. Conduct costing activities including new product cost assessments, monthly cost runs, and annual cost updates. Evaluate fluctuations in product costs and assess their potential impact on profit margins and overall financial performance. Support month-end financial close processes, including calculations for work-in-progress, production order settlements, cost updates, and preparation of inventory and production cost reports. Monitor and analyze production-related costs; collaborate with plant leadership to identify and implement cost optimization strategies. Investigate and explain variances in raw material, labor, manufacturing overhead, sales volume, and product mix. Perform profitability analysis at the product level, from sales through gross profit. Review inventory valuations, and assess risks related to slow-moving or obsolete inventory Track capital expenditures, monitor fixed assets, and prepare depreciation reports. Conduct ad hoc financial and strategic analyses as required by senior leadership.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline with an emphasis in accounting. Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across all organizational levels and with external partners.
