Assistant Controller CPC Commodities 783 Eagle Boulevard, Shelbyville, TN 37160 Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting CPC’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of corporate accounting, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic environment. CPC is an agribusiness specializing in the manufacture and distribution of livestock nutrition products. Responsibilities Oversee internal audits including, but not limited to: AP and AR accounts, new vendors and customers, vendor terms, bill accuracy. Assist in the preparation and analysis of various financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data. Manage intercompany allocations and balance intercompany activity. Collaborate with the accounting team to implement financial software solutions that enhance reporting capabilities and improve workflow efficiency. Manage current A/R software. Conduct technical accounting research to address complex accounting issues as they arise. Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, and at least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting. Proficiency in financial report writing with a keen eye for detail. Experience with various financial software applications relevant to corporate accounting. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Solid understanding of technical accounting concepts and their application in real-world scenarios. Demonstrated experience in general ledger reconciliation processes. Strong analytical skills with the capacity to interpret complex financial data. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities effectively. High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
