Exempt Position Summary:

The Director of Finance is responsible for the overall financial health and performance of the hotel. This includes overseeing the accounting team, managing budgets and forecasts, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic support to executive leadership. The role ensures all financial controls, reporting, and operational procedures align with company and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct all aspects of finance, accounting, purchasing, and internal controls. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports. Lead the annual budget and forecasting process in collaboration with department heads. Maintain accurate and timely financial records in compliance with company policies and local laws. Monitor revenue and expenses to ensure profitability and cost control across all departments. Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and coordinate with external auditors. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions and long-term planning. Develop and enforce internal financial policies and procedures. Mentor and develop the hotel’s accounting staff, promoting high standards and continuous improvement. Partner with operational leaders to optimize efficiencies and support departmental performance.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred). Minimum of 5-7 years of finance/accounting experience, with 2+ years in a senior leadership role. Hotel finance experience preferred. Strong knowledge of hotel accounting systems and financial reporting (e.g., M3, Oracle, SAP, Opera, etc.). Solid understanding of GAAP, financial controls, and hotel industry KPIs. Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills. High attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
