About Us:
Anotherland is a dynamic and growing record label, publishing company and creative agency dedicated to producing and distributing high-quality music across various genres. We work closely with artists, producers, and distribution platforms to bring innovative sounds to global audiences. We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller / Director of Finance to oversee and enhance our financial operations with expertise in US GAAP and streaming DSP accounting.
Responsibilities:
Support CFO by managing all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Ensure compliance with US GAAP and industry-specific financial regulations. Manage revenue recognition and royalty accounting related to streaming DSPs (Digital Service Providers) such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. Develop and implement financial controls and processes to enhance efficiency. Monitor cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger accounting. Work closely with CFO, external auditors, tax advisors, and legal teams to ensure regulatory compliance. Generate and present financial statements, reports, and key performance indicators to CFO and senior management. Assist in strategic financial planning, including evaluating new business opportunities and investment analysis. Stay up-to-date with trends in digital music distribution and licensing.
Requirements:
MUST HAVE
– Experience in music industry, DSP accounting and royalty reporting. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred) . 10+ years Financial Controller / Director of Finance or equivalent experience preferably within the music, media, or entertainment industry. Professional knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition principles. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems. Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving industry with tight deadlines.
