This leader will play a critical role in shaping the financial health and operational backbone of the business, bringing clarity and direction to a wide range of internal functions. As a key member of the GUNNER® Leadership Team, this role will oversee finance, legal, and HR—leading everything from cash flow and budgeting to contract strategy and people operations—while building the structure and systems that will support our team and our mission as we scale. A key responsibility of this role is to mentor and develop the Accounting Manager, preparing them to eventually take full ownership of the finance and accounting functions. The successful candidate will foster a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and team success. Key Responsibilities Finance & Accounting Lead the finance team, overseeing accounts receivable and payable, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions. Manage financial reporting and month-end close processes to provide clear insights into company performance. Report financial information to the board of directors alongside other executive leadership. Oversee income and sales/use tax compliance, ensuring adherence to all relevant tax regulations. Develop and maintain cash flow forecasting models to support strategic decision-making. Implement and monitor expense management strategies to optimize operational efficiency. Collaborate with executive leadership to develop annual budgets and financial plans aligned with company goals. Ensure that the Accounting Manager is actively involved in strategic discussions, enhancing their understanding and readiness for future leadership while setting clear objectives and milestones for their progression/professional development. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, coordinating with external auditors as necessary. Manage the company’s capitalization table and support capital raise efforts, including investor communications, due diligence, and financial modeling. Legal & Administrative Manage all legal matters, including contract review, intellectual property applications and renewals, and litigation oversight. Maintain corporate records and ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements. Oversee insurance policies, ensuring adequate coverage and risk management. Coordinate with legal counsel on complex legal issues and ensure the company’s interests are protected. Support cross-functional teams with administrative needs, streamlining processes and improving operational efficiency. Human Resources Oversee all HR functions, including payroll, benefits administration, hiring, training, performance reviews, and employee separations. Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies. Manage HR contractors and vendors, ensuring quality service delivery and alignment with company culture. Develop and implement company policies that promote a positive and productive work environment. Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement, development, and retention.
