Interim Controller or Assistant Controller LBMC Staffing Solutions Burns, TN 37029 Our client is seeking an Interim Controller or Assistant Controller to be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of a manufacturing business, including financial reporting, cost analysis, inventory management, compliance, budgeting and internal controls. The Interim Assistant Controller or Controller will also work with external auditors to complete the annual audit. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Coordinate with external auditors on the completion of the annual audit. Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for cost control and improvement. Provide insightful financial reports to family leadership to support strategic decision-making. Analyze manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead, to identify cost-saving opportunities. Implement cost control measures and monitor their effectiveness. Collaborate with operations teams to optimize production processes and reduce costs. Oversee inventory control procedures to ensure accurate inventory levels and minimize stockouts. Monitor inventory turnover rates and identify potential issues with slow-moving or obsolete inventory. Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards (GAAP) and tax regulations. Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks. Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals to facilitate the audit and tax return preparation processes. Lead and mentor the team of accounting and IT professionals, including day-to-day supervision and performance management. Foster a collaborative work environment and promote continuous improvement within the accounting and technology departments. Required Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting (CPA a plus, not required) Experience in a manufacturing environment Experience working with external auditors Experience with job cost is required. Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles Advanced proficiency in accounting software and financial analysis tools Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
