Automotive Manufacturing Location:
Chattanooga, TN Our client, a multi-billion-dollar international automotive supplier, is seeking an experienced Plant Controller for their Chattanooga, TN facility. This plant, home to approximately 500 employees, is looking for a dynamic financial leader with a background in high-volume manufacturing. While automotive industry experience is preferred, candidates from large-scale manufacturing environments will be strongly considered. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus but not required. As the Plant Controller, you will serve as a key member of the plant leadership team, overseeing all financial activities at the facility level. You will play a critical role in financial reporting, budgeting, cost analysis, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulations. Partnering closely with plant management, you will provide strategic insights to optimize operations and drive profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze detailed financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports Monitor financial performance against budget and identify improvement opportunities
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Lead the development and management of the plant’s annual budget Provide accurate forecasts and regular financial updates to plant leadership
Cost Analysis:
Analyze production costs, material usage, labor expenses, and overhead to uncover cost-saving initiatives Recommend actions to enhance operational efficiency and profitability
Inventory Management:
Maintain oversight of inventory accuracy for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods Prevent stockouts and excess inventory through proactive monitoring
Internal Controls & Compliance:
Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets Ensure adherence to GAAP and all relevant local, state, and federal financial regulations
Audit Support:
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure efficient audit processes
Team Leadership:
Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals, including payroll and accounts payable/receivable staff
Business Partnering:
Work closely with plant management, providing financial insights and guidance to support operational decision-making
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required Proven experience in manufacturing accounting, financial reporting, and cost analysis Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Expertise in budgeting and forecasting within a manufacturing environment Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders Experience in a high-volume production environment; automotive experience preferred Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required
