REQUIREMENTS

ASSISTANT

CONTROLLER
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 4+ years of recent experience working as an Accountant looking to elevate into an assistant controller
  • Cost accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting
  • Familiarity with IFRS accounting standards a plus
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred but not required
RESPONSIBILITIES

ASSISTANT

CONTROLLER
  • Assist in the timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis for management
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
  • Maintain and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets
  • Oversee cost accounting functions, including standard costing, and variance analysis
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, labor, and overhead expenses to provide insights for management
  • Partner with operations teams to improve inventory valuation and cycle count accuracy
  • Ensure accurate reporting of inventory and work-in-progress (WIP) accounts
  • Support daily cash processing and ensure that all items, including intercompany, have been posted in the proper general ledger and asset accounts
  • Assist with state and federal tax filing requirements
  • Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff to enhance their technical and professional development
  • Assist in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations of accounting team members
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the department
  • Experienced Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller to join our team. This role is ideal for a highly skilled accounting professional with a background in manufacturing, cost accounting, and inventory management seeking to grow into a Senior Controller role.
  • Assist in developing annual budgets and periodic forecasts
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis
