Full Job Description Position Summary:

This position plays a critical leadership role within the Finance Department, overseeing a wide range of financial and accounting activities integral to the organization’s success. This position is responsible for directing the coordination and execution of monthly and year-end financial reporting and analysis, and assisting in both internal and external audits. Key contributor in strategic direction and enhancement of financial systems and processes. This position reports directly to the Corporate Controller and is entrusted with significant autonomy, exercising independent judgment in daily operations. The Assistant Corporate Controller also leads and mentors a team of accounting professionals, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead internal audit activities and assist The Controller with external auditors for annual audits. Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements and stay updated on industry changes. Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including General Accounting, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Optimize payment processes and recovery processes to leverage advantageous discounts, increase customer deduction recoveries and improve overall efficiency Review and approve account reconciliations, ensuring the integrity and compliance of financial data with GAAP standards Manage the reporting and analysis of financial data, providing actionable insights to stakeholders. Take part in strategic projects, financial reporting system upgrades, and process optimization initiatives Directs and integrates changes in processes into the account systems and accounting cycle Manage the reporting and analysis of financial data, providing actionable insights to stakeholders. Partner with Corporate Controller in identifying financial systems and leading the implementation of systems that improve efficiency and enhance internal controls and financial insights.

Qualifications/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. CPA and/or MBA preferred. A minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role overseeing all aspects of accounting. Proven leadership in managing accounting teams and functions, with strong general accounting and financial analysis skills. Advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Exceptional organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, implement new processes, and drive efficiency improvements. Experience working with national retailers and customer program allowances is advantageous.

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Travel:

Typical office environment with moderate noise levels. Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, talk, hear, and see, with extended use of hands and wrists. Capacity to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, accounting standards, government regulations, and legal documents. Strong verbal and written communication skills for interaction with executives, management, auditors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders. Analytical ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret technical instructions and manage abstract and concrete variables.
