Job Summary:

The Assistant Controller – Supports the company’s controller by managing the company’s finances and accounting activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None Duties/Responsibilities:

Establishes and maintains internal controls. Prepares and consolidates financial statements to summarize and forecast the company’s financial status. Assists with management of accounting, auditing and budgeting within the organization. Assists with preparations for audits. Works to reconcile accounting inaccuracies. Presents recommendations to management on short-term and long-term financial objectives and policies. Provides financial analysis, with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations. Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements. Uses accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports. Coordinates with and prepares reports for CFO and upper management. Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly skilled in math, accounting and financial processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required. 3 years or more of related experience required. Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.

Sage Experience Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
