Assistant Controller Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Controller who will play a key role in monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L reviews and forecasts. This position requires a proactive individual to prepare tracking tools, monitor cash flow metrics, and ensure the accuracy of all transactions in the General Ledger. Responsibilities Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L reviews and forecasts. Prepare tracking tools to monitor improvement initiatives. Monitor inventory-related cash flow metrics to maximize cash while meeting P&L targets. Collaborate with division leadership to optimize cash flow and operating profit. Ensure the accuracy of all transactions entered into the General Ledger. Present a clear and concise review of current and projected operating results to Company leadership. Maintain, optimize, and improve financial models to enhance budget and forecasting accuracy. Ensure a strong set of internal controls. Refine and maintain the integrity of the division’s standard cost system. Set and manage AGS customer pricing, develop monthly price files, and assist in maintaining minimum profitability requirements. Support other Finance and Accounting roles as necessary. Participate in special projects, including financial modeling and analyses for new business opportunities. Essential Skills Proficiency in accounting practices, including general ledger, reconciliation, and month-end processes. Experience with financial statements, journal entries, accounts payable, and accruals. Strong skills in P&L analysis, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and sales reporting. Proficiency in Oracle, SAP, and financial reporting. Skills in variance analysis, bank reconciliation, and budgeting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Experience with modeling in Excel is a plus. Experience with ERP systems; QAD experience is a plus. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Hands-on approach to problem-solving and analysis. Comfortable participating in high-level business strategy while working with detailed data. Ability to maintain objectivity with business partners while sustaining collaborative relationships. Excellent analytical skills and a high degree of accuracy. Work Environment The role is based onsite in Lebanon, TN, and operates Monday through Friday during the first shift.
