Job Summary:
The Underwriting Assistant will have contact with clients/brokers discussing accounts to acknowledge receipt, determine acceptability, gather information, and rate renewal business. This role will work with the Underwriting team responding to inquiries regarding service, questions on procedures, and service. •This role is onsite 4 days a week at the Fort Lauderdale office, with 1 day working from home.•
Responsibilities:
Handle all customer service and workflow involved in assisting underwriters with the processing of renewal business. Prepare non-conditional renewal documentation on a monthly basis, flagging policies for terms and conditions and/or non-renewals and notifying the insureds and agencies via letter. Flag and release quotes daily, including Long and Short-Terming policies and Flat Cancellations. Complete all invoices for
GIG & GWI
policies. Annual touch base with agents, ensuring compliance is met. Manage electronic filing systems. Liaise with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information. Provide support in responding to inquiries and requests for information. Provide general support to the underwriting team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, preferred. Previous experience in customer service/administrative setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ensure accuracy in documentation, with great attention to detail. Work well in a team environment, supporting colleagues and contributing to team goals. 440 license preferred, or to be obtained within the first 6 months of employment.
