Hanley Foundation, a West Palm Beach-based non-profitorganization that aims to eliminate addiction through prevention,treatment, advocacy, and recovery support, seeks Primary Therapiststo join our growing team at our state-of-the-art substanceuse/mental health treatment facility in sunny West Palm Beach,Florida. The Primary Therapist will provide individual, family, andgroup therapy, crisis intervention, and consultation services. Inthis role, you will collaborate with other staff members to ensurepatients receive the best care possible. This position requires employees to work one of thefollowing schedules; Tuesday – Saturday or Sunday – Thursday,including one late shift from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.•We arespecifically seeking a candidate who has experience working withFirst Responders and Veterans•Duties & Responsibilities for a
Primary Therapist:
Provide therapy under the direction of the ClinicalDirector. Coordinate alcohol and drug use treatment services with theClinical Director. Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches to treat avariety of mental health conditions and substance usedisorders. Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations that includesocial histories and other required treatment documentation. Provide and communicate aftercare recommendations to patients,family members, and the Continuum of Care department. Ensure that all relevant information is provided to thepatients, the parents, or the patient’s managing conservatorweekly. Coordinate with the Clinical Director to ensure consistency oftreatment. Conduct intakes and screenings on potential patients. Develop patient’s treatment plans. Create discharge summaries and aftercare recommendations. Facilitate groups and lectures for patients. Conduct individual therapy sessions weekly for patients oncaseload. Attend staff meetings as scheduled and as needed. Report all alleged incidents of abuse or neglect following allstate standards and accrediting bodies. Ensure that records are accurate and timely, following HanleyFoundation policies, and are available for audits. Protect patient’s rights. Uphold Hanley Foundation Policies and Procedures. Maintain patient/potential patient confidentiality per HanleyPolicy. Complete UR and insurance reviews for their caseload. Complete Marchman Act assessments and all related requirements(court appearances, report write-up, etc). Be part of the on-call rotationteam.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills. Experience with evidence-based treatment approaches for mentalhealth and substance use disorders. Knowledge, experience, and competence in the specific areas ofadult treatment, adult co-morbid complications, and family systemstheory. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborationskills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to cultural competency and providing therapyservices to a diverse patient population. Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft products andnetwork components.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field,focusing on mental health and substance use disorders. Florida State license to practice as a therapist (LCSW, LMHC,LMFT) – At least one (1) year of experience working in a substance usetreatment facility. At least one (1) year years of experience providing clinicalservices to individuals with co-occurring disorders Work experience in a 12-step immersion program ispreferred. If in recovery, one (1) year of continuous sobriety isrequired.
