First Responder – Sports Medicine 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars 2525 Court Drive, Gastonia, NC 28054
Job Summary :
To coordinate and provide sports medicine services in the community, schools and sports events. Provides onsite for practice, games and events to ensure appropriate athlete safety, assessment of injury, management of injury and follow-up. Coordinates and works closely with Athletic Trainers, other first responders, community medical personnel, physicians, Service Line Director and Outpatient Therapy Director to provide the necessary assessment and care for the athlete or individual attending a sporting event.
Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training and has completed coursework on injury prevention and management through a CAATA-accredited program. Considerable knowledge of first responder and sports medicine terminology, procedures, and techniques. Thorough skill in performing first responder assessments and treatments. Ability to deal tactfully with family members, athletes, coaches, school employees, physicians, community and hospital personnel. Considerable judgment is required in working with athletes and performing treatments. BLS certification required.
