Pay Range:
$45,000 to $65,000 annually
Job Overview:
The Athletic Trainer, Club Sports is responsible for the administration of all sports medicine facets of the club sports program which currently includes 33 teams with varying levels of attention. This position plays an important role in both clearing club athletes for initial participation, as well as oversight and management of event coverage and participants’ abilities to safely participate in their sport. Essential Functions Provide athletic training services for the club sports program including attendance at scheduled team practices and home competitions and selected away competitions. Coordination of pre-participation packets for all participants and any related follow-up prior to participation in club sports activities. Oversee compilation, input, organization, and maintenance of all medical records for student-athletes in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations. Determine (with Physician’s consultation) student athlete’s ability to practice and/or compete; develop and maintain active communication with club coaches on status of injured student-athletes. Secure, assign, and manage per diem or outside Athletic Trainer coverage to assist with events/practices. Establish and maintain relationships with varsity sports medicine, student health center, team physicians/medical consultants to ensure program service and effectiveness. Establish, maintain, and enforce code of conduct and rules for athletic training facilities and equipment. Develop and maintain athletic training supplies and inventory to support the program, including team first aid kits. Develop and maintain a club sports athletic training program policy manual for club sports. Assist with development and implementation of club sports safety officer program to assist with management of daily practices. Establish, maintain, and enforce an emergency action plan for athletic training facilities. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree required. NATABOC certified (Pennsylvania certified or eligible) First Aid/CPR/AED certified Minimum 1 year as an Athletic Trainer in an educational setting, high school or higher education. Excellent communication, organization, management, leadership, and professional skills. Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem solve, and meet deadlines. Ability to collaborate effectively with department members on the administration and operation of Drexel Club Sports programs. Ability to work evenings/weekends. Valid Driver’s license with MVR check required. Preferred Qualifications First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certified Our Commitment to
