Staff Full Time Job Description The Athletic Trainer is a full-time staff position within the Department of Athletics. This individual reports to and works under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer. This positions sport coverage will be assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer, other duties will include assistance in the Athletic Training Room coverage for the 22 NCAA Division II sports that compete within the South Atlantic Conference. Required Qualifications Bachelors or Entry Level Masters Degree in Athletic Training;
- NATABOC certified;
- licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Tennessee;
- current CPR/AED certification; valid drivers license Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in Athletic Training or related field; 1-3 years experience working with contact sport, preferably in a collegiate setting

Job Duties
Promote the mission of the University, the mission of the School of Allied Health Sciences, and the mission of the Department of Athletic Training to all faculty, staff, students, and the community at large;
Promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff and students;
Adhere to the Faculty/Staff Policy Manual;
Participate on University committees;
Represent the School and Department at professional meetings;
Promote and maintain a positive work environment in the clinical setting for students, student-athletes, coaches, faculty and staff;
Complete required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports necessary for the advancement of University programs;
Monitor and evaluate athletic training students in a clinical setting as an approved Preceptor;
Explore career opportunities for athletic training students;
Provide effective and safe clinical settings and experiences for athletic training students;
Assist athletic training students in their preparation of the BOC exam;
Serve as a good role model for athletic training students;
Supervise athletic training students assigned to intercollegiate athletic teams;
Provide intercollegiate athletic coverage as assigned;
Staff the athletic training facilities as assigned;
Provide prevention, evaluation, and treatment of athletic injuries and illnesses;
Promote best practices in athletic training through evidence-based clinical practice;
Keep appropriate documentation regarding the injuries and illnesses of student-athletes until the statute of limitations has passed;
Enforce the rules as detailed by the South Atlantic Conference, the NCAA, and other organizations;
Communicate effectively with the Athletic Training Staff;
Assist the Head Athletic Trainer with his/her assigned duties;
Assist the Head Athletic Trainer with budget and supply management;
Assist the Head Athletic Trainer with maintaining the equipment within the Athletic Training facilities for the safety of the students and student-athletes;
Assist the Head Athletic Trainer with the development of an overall medical program for the University including injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation;
Assist the Head Athletic Trainer in preparing, coordinating, and scheduling physical examinations and medical referrals for student-athletes pre-participation physicals;
Assist the Head Athletic Trainer in coordinating and scheduling the referral of student-athletes to the appropriate health professional;
Assist the Head Athletic Trainer in developing and implementing the drug testing/education program;
Assist the Head Athletic Trainer in the hiring, training, supervising, and mentoring of Athletic Trainers and Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainers;
Assist the Head Athletic Trainer in supervising, scheduling, and coordinating sports coverage of the Athletic Trainers;
Assist the Head Athletic Trainer in supervising, scheduling, and coordinating the clinical responsibilities of the Athletic Trainers;
Maintain professional certification through professional development;
