D)to join our provider network as an independent contractor to perform general medical disability examinations for Veterans.

These exams are performed on-site in your own office. Office must be within 50 miles of a needed location. DBQs help collect necessary medical information so that the VA may process a Veteran’s disability claims. Exams are evaluated only to determine compensation and pension eligibility. These are non-treatment exams to determine a veteran’s benefits.
Job Description:
Will be administering & completing Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) to veterans As a certified medical disability examiner, you gather and synthesize clinical evidence through medical and military record review, diagnostic testing, interviews with Veterans, and face-to-face examinations. You develop a medical opinion of the likelihood that the Veteran’s condition is related to their military service. Qualifications You must be a provider in good standing, with active license and have your own office. The Veteran will travel to you. Masters or doctorate degree from a college or university accredited by either the Accreditation Commission for Audiology Education (ACAE) or the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Active state license in good standing Malpractice insurance Computer, reliable internet Tests/Exams to be preformed Audiogram (Puretone and Bone Conduction Thresholds) Acoustic Reflex Testing/ Tympanometry (Ipsilateral and contralateral acoustic reflexes) Speech Discrimination Testingm (Recorded presentation using a Maryland CNC word list) Stenger Test Cerumen extraction Booth Requirements Sound isolated/proof Completed enclosed Meets ANSI current standards Equipment calibrated within the past 12 months Wheelchair accessible Sound room certificate of measurement Audiometer calibration
