Job Description

Audiologist 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars 7968 Essen Park Avenue, Baton Rouge, LA 70809 Cameo Consulting Group, LLC is seeking several qualified and available Certified Audiologiststo support the Department of Veteran Affairs in Baton Rouge, LA . The position is full-time, long-term, and available to start onboarding immediately.

Duties:

The Audiologists shall perform the following and adhere to the VHA Directives 2008-070, 1034, 1170.02(1), and VHA Audiology Clinical Practice recommendations: Hearing Aid Fitting and Aural Rehabilitation. The Audiologist will provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic audiology services to veterans at the VA Medical Center. The Audiologist’s primary role is to evaluate, diagnose, and treat hearing, balance, and related auditory disorders in veterans, ensuring the highest standard of care. Services include both in-clinic care and telehealth consultations as needed. The audiologists are responsible for performing a range of duties aimed at improving veterans’ quality of life by addressing their hearing and balance needs.

The scope includes:

Comprehensive audiometric evaluations and diagnostic testing for hearing and balance disorders. Hearing aid evaluations, fittings, programming, and maintenance. Counseling veterans on hearing loss prevention, auditory rehabilitation, and communication strategies. Maintaining compliance with VA policies and federal healthcare delivery and patient safety regulations.

Diagnostic Evaluations:

Hearing evaluations are performed using audiometers, impedance bridges, otoacoustic emissions (OAE), and auditory brainstem response (ABR) testing to diagnose hearing and balance disorders.

Hearing Aid Services:

Administer hearing aid consultations, fittings, and programming using evidence-based practices. Educate on proper device usage and maintenance.

Rehabilitation Services:

Develop and implement individualized auditory rehabilitation plans, including providing veterans with aural rehabilitation training, assistive listening devices, and communication strategies.

Patient Education:

Counsel veterans and their families on hearing health, protective measures, and available hearing loss treatment and management resources.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration:

Work closely with ENT specialists, primary car providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care coordination.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with VA policies and federal regulations, ensuring timely entry into electronic health records (EHR). Timely completion of all diagnostic evaluations within prescribed timeframes. Implement treatment plans that meet the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) andVeterans Health Administration (VHA) guidelines. Regular follow-ups for hearing aid services to ensure devices are functioning optimally and meet patient needs. Delivery of tele-audiology services in accordance with established VA protocols. Coordinating and conducting tele-audiology services as necessary. Qualifications:
License:

Have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia) when services are performed onsite on VA property. All licenses held by the key personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses. Key Personnel who have current, full, and unrestricted licenses in one or more states, but who have, or ever had, a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action, or denied upon ap plication will not be considered for the purposes of this contract.

Board of Certification and Experience:

The audiologist shall possess the following qualifications: Current Audiologist licensure in the state of Louisiana, A Doctor of Audiology (Au. D.) degree from an accredited institution, and Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or equivalent.

Credentialling and Privileging:

Upon request of the CO/COR to verify current and ongoing competency, skills, certification and/or licensure related to providing care, treatment and/or services performed. The contractor shall provide verifiable evidence of all educational and training experiences, including any gaps in educational history for all Key Personnel, and the contractor’s physician(s) shall be responsible for abiding by the Facility’s Medical Staff By-Laws, rules, and regulations (referenced herein) that govern medical staff behavior.

NPI:

The Contractor shall have or obtain appropriate NPI and, if pertinent the Taxonomy Code confirmation notice issued by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES).

07:30 – 16:00, excluding Federal Holidays, evenings, and weekends.

The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including Federal Holidays.
