Job Description

Seeking a highly motivated 4th year student who excels in a fast paced hospital environment. The candidate should have strong academic skills and be willing to take the initiative for other related duties. Completion of 3rd year Audiology program

Yes Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship: Competency in most audiological procedures Adult and pediatric audio evals, Hearing aid troubleshooting and fittings Hearing aid verification OAEs Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: Vestibular assessments including VNG and Rotary Chair Evoked Potential Testing Clinical opportunities that will be given to the extern: Regularly Hearing Screenings Regularly Pediatric evaluations: infant/toddler Regularly Pediatric evaluations: school-age Everyday Adult hearing evaluations Everyday Tympanometry Everyday Acoustic Reflexes Regularly Auditory processing evaluations Regularly Hearing Screenings Regularly Evoked potential assessments Never Intra-operative monitoring cases Everyday Otoacoustic emissions Never Industrial/hearing conservation Everyday Vestibular assessments Never Vestibular rehabilitation Regularly Hearing aids dispensed Everyday Hearing aid selection/fitting Rarely Audiologic rehabilitation (group or individualized) Rarely Cochlear implant evaluations Rarely Cochlear implant rehabilitation Regularly Tinnitus assessments Regularly Tinnitus rehabilitation Rarely Cerumen management Research opportunities?
