Yes Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship: Comprehensive audiometry to include adult and pediatrics. Familiarity with hearing aids and supplies. Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: Students are expected to gain independence in pediatric and adult audiometry, hearing aid evaluations, fittings and follow-ups, as well as ABRs and OAEs.
