Yes Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship: Basic audiological diagnostic testing on adults and kids including tympanometry, air conduction, bone conduction, speech & masking. Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: Confidence with testing for pediatrics, working with various hearing aid manufacturers, explaining test results to patients and their caregivers, vestibular testing, and tinnitus management.
