Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team. The RBT will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement behavior analysis services and interventions for individuals with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to promoting positive behavior change.

Responsibilities:

Implement behavior intervention plans developed by the BCBA to address challenging behaviors and teach new skills. Provide one-on-one direct therapy sessions with clients in various settings, including clinic, home, school, and community settings. Collect and record data on client progress during therapy sessions to track behavior change and monitor effectiveness of interventions. Assist in conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors. Collaborate with the BCBA and other team members to develop individualized treatment goals and objectives for clients. Implement strategies for skill acquisition in areas such as communication, socialization, self-help, and functional skills. Provide feedback and support to caregivers and other stakeholders to ensure consistency and generalization of skills across settings. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to expand knowledge and skills in the field of behavior analysis. Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other professionals involved in the client’s care.

Qualifications:

Must hold or be able to obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) within 60 days of beginning employment. Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, behavior analysis, or related field preferred. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, preferably in a clinical or educational setting. Knowledge of behavior analysis principles and techniques, including applied behavior analysis (ABA) methodologies. Strong observational skills and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team. Must be available during the daytime, potential for evening and weekend hours. CPR and First Aid certification preferred. Ability to pass background check and drug screening.

Physical Requirements:

The position may require the ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, as well as kneeling, bending, and sitting on the floor for extended periods of time during therapy sessions.
