Reports To :
Clinical Director/Supervisor Job Summary :
The BCBA is responsible for conducting assessments, designing behavior intervention plans, supervising implementation, and ensuring the effectiveness of interventions. The BCBA works closely with clients, their families, and a team of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to improve the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly autism.
Key Responsibilities :
Assessment and Evaluation :
Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify the causes and functions of challenging behaviors. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and client needs. Regularly review and update treatment plans to reflect progress and changes in the client’s needs.
Intervention Design and Implementation :
Design and implement evidence-based behavior intervention plans (BIPs). Train and supervise RBTs and other staff on the implementation of behavior plans. Model appropriate interventions and provide in-field support to ensure fidelity of implementation.
Data Collection and Analysis :
Oversee the collection of data on client behavior, monitor progress, and analyze data to make informed decisions. Adjust interventions based on data analysis to ensure the effectiveness of treatment.
Family and Caregiver Training :
Provide training and support to families and caregivers on behavior management strategies. Communicate regularly with families about progress and involve them in the decision-making process.
Collaboration and Teamwork :
Work collaboratively with other professionals (e.g., speech therapists, occupational therapists, educators) to provide comprehensive care. Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss client progress and treatment adjustments.
Compliance and Documentation :
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided, including progress notes, treatment plans, and reports. Ensure compliance with ethical standards and state regulations related to behavior analysis services.
Professional Development :
Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in ABA. Attend professional development workshops and maintain certification requirements.
Qualifications :
Education :
Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
Certification :
Must be certified as a BCBA by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Experience :
Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disorders preferred.
Skills :
Strong understanding of ABA principles and practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in data collection and analysis. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Work Environment :
May work in various settings, including clinics, schools, homes, or community environments. May require travel to multiple sites or client homes. Flexible working hours may be required, including evenings or weekends, depending on client needs.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to sit, stand, and move freely. Ability to engage in physical activities with clients, including lifting or assisting as needed. Ability to handle the physical demands of working with active or physically challenging clients.

$80.00 – $85.00 per hour
