Full Job Description Summary:
The lead behavior modification technician, under general supervision, performs support work with minimal decision-making discretion providing behavioral support and professional development to school staff. Position conducts district-wide training, provides extra support to schools, and observes application of behavior management techniques in schools to provide feedback. Position also provides guidance, support, and training to behavior modification technicians (BMTs) and other behavioral support staff. Employee performs district-level and school-level work to carry out Board of Education policies under the direction of the principal.
Essential Duties:
Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures Implement a behavioral program designed to make positive and appropriate changes Lead school-based BMTs and support staff through training, delegating and reviewing work, coordinating schedules, and communicating with stakeholders Assist schools with the development, coordination and implementation of behavior management programs and strategies Maintain a database of programmatic data for use in reporting Follow-up on possible referrals: contact school-based staff, parents, and community agencies to attain additional information Collaborate with schools to assist with implementing researched-based alternatives to suspension Observe and document behaviors of designated students; maintain accurate log of progress, relative behavior and social skills development Work cooperatively with district staff and community agencies in accessing resources for students and their parents Assess crisis situations and defuse situations using appropriate conflict resolution and crisis management techniques Address needs of students appropriately and in accordance with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) Develop and deliver presentations and training Facilitate staff meetings and attend other related meetings as needed/required Create an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations Perform related work as assigned or required # of Jobs 1.00 Minimum Educational Requirements HS diploma Term 10 Month
