Implements behavioral plan designed by the psychologist for children with feeding difficulties and participates in the interdisciplinary model of care. What you will do
Under the direction of the psychologist, serves as the primary clinical specialist to assigned patients.
Under supervision of the psychologist, implements the approved behavioral plan.
Under supervision of the psychologist, participates in the design of the behavior plan by;
Identifying, operationalizing and tracking specific target behaviors as instructed.
Identifying behavior that impedes progress toward goals and communicates back to the psychologist
Coordinates the daily operations of mealtime sessions:
Orders and prepares food according to treatment plan.
Communicates treatment plan to other clinical specialists.
Feeds assigned patients (e.g. feeds an average of 6 meals/day).
Cancels interpreters for assigned patients.
Assists in other activities:
Runs one weekly activity for patients/parents currently admitted to the program.
Under supervision of the psychologist, participates in caregiver training.
Demonstrates safe, effective use of the behavior plan to caregivers.
Schedules family meeting and communicates time/day to team.
Schedules caregiver teaching and meal preparation.
Documentation responsibilities:
Maintains timely and accurate documentation for assigned patients.
Collects data on patient goals and target behaviors.
Inputs data and prepares graphs for target behaviors and goals on a daily basis.
Presents summary of observations and data for the team during interdisciplinary treatment team meetings twice weekly and at other times as necessary.
Draft and route relevant sections within discharge summary within two weeks of discharge.
Maintains updated information on patient communication boards for all changes.
Completes daily notes.
Closes team note the day after each visit once all team members have completed documentation.
Administrative responsibilities:
Orders and restocks supplies for Day Hospital as assigned.
Facilitates ordering and receiving of weekly stock as assigned.
Tracks discharge summaries for completion as assigned.
Participates in quality improvement initiatives for the program.
Participates in continuing education activities.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements related to the role, including but not limited to food safety, supplies storage, infection prevention and control, etc. Education Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree

  • Required
    Bachelor’s Degree Psychology, Special Education or similar field of study
  • Preferred Experience Qualifications
    At least one (1) year related practical experience
  • Preferred
    Experience with principles of behavioral intervention or applied behavior analysis in young children (birth through elementary school-aged)
