JOB GOAL
The purpose of this classification is to assist with the oversight of behavior supports in special education programs and personnel by providing services in applied behavior analysis (ABA), completing functional behavioral assessment, supervision for Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT), teaching behavior acquisition and reduction procedures, improving student adaptive life skills, and providing staff professional development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Essential job duties are intended to be examples of duties and are not intended to be all inclusive. There will be other duties assigned.
Provide ongoing support, consultation, and training to school staff regarding the use of ABA within the school setting.
Assist in the development and implementation of assessment tools, to conduct functional assessments and analyses when appropriate, and to develop behavior strategies to teach appropriate behavior.
Assist in the development of behavior plans with a focus on teaching replacement behaviors and other necessary skills, along with the implementation of antecedent strategies for reducing problematic behavior(s).
Complete observations of students with a focus on assisting the team in determining functions of behavior, appropriate replacement behaviors, and useful antecedent strategies to reduce problematic behavior(s).
Participate in Individual Educational Program (IEP) meetings as needed.
Facilitate and assist in the development and identification of resources and support information regarding student needs.
Conduct assessments and develop treatments as needed for Medicaid billing.
Supervise RBT implementation of behavior/treatment plans.
Conduct all necessary supervision and meetings required for RBTs to maintain certification.
Bill Medicaid for all assessments and supervision.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Demonstrate expertise in the area of data collection and behavior analysis. Work collaboratively with colleagues such as principals, school psychologists, teachers, etc. Demonstrate behavior management and/or techniques.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to work directly with students with disabilities experiencing behavioral struggles in the school setting.
