Position Summary:

The Behavior Interventionist supports students by implementing evidence-based behavioral strategies to promote positive social, emotional, and academic outcomes. Working closely with teachers, counselors, and families, the Behavior Interventionist develops and monitors individualized behavior plans and fosters a safe, inclusive learning environment. This position will serve K-8 grade levels but may serve K-12 grade levels as additional support if needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide direct support to students exhibiting challenging behaviors. Implement and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans (BIP’s). Collaborate with teachers, administrators and school psychologist to develop strategies and accommodations. Conduct observations and collect behavioral data to inform interventions. Lead social skills groups or classroom lessons on topics like self-regulation and conflict resolution. Train and coach staff on positive behavior supports and de-escalation techniques. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians on student progress. Support crisis intervention and help maintain a safe school climate.

Key Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, social work, or related field. Preferred Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or equivalent. Experience working with children or adolescents in school or therapeutic settings. Knowledge of behavior management techniques and functional behavior assessments. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a team. Ability to handle highly confidential student related material. This position is a exempt classified position for the 2025 / 2026 school year for 190 days to follow the approved school calendar.
