The goal for theComplex Behavior Coordinator is to ensure students are providedwith behavioral (nonacademic) instruction and intervention thatallows them to be successful in school and achieve postsecondarysuccess.

Job Overview:

This key position within Special Education andIntervention Programs will support LEAs in meeting specific goalsfor the achievement of all students, including students withdisabilities, by improving behavioral practices and supportingtiered systems of behavioral intervention. This individual willprovide timely guidance and professional learning to district IDEAdirectors and RTI coordinators on a systematic framework and anintentional focus on data-based decision making and behavioralpractices and supports for providing tiered systems of behavioralintervention with a focus on the most intensive behaviorintervention needs in special education.

Key Responsibilities:

Serves as a complex behavior subject matter expert inintervention support for districts in Tennessee. Develop and provide professional learning opportunities onresearch-based behavior instruction, prevention, and interventionpractices that are designed to increase student achievement andclose skill gaps with an emphasis on the most intensive behaviorintervention needs in special education. Provide active leadership and support for effective behaviorinstruction, prevention, and intervention strategies, techniques,and methods grounded in research and focused on improvedachievement for students receiving behavioral intervention,focusing on the most intensive behavior intervention needs inspecial education. Collaborate with department staff on student needs withinbehavioral interventions within all department initiatives.

MinimumQualifications:

Strong background in supporting students with complexbehaviors Degree

REQUIRED

in relevant field (e.g., behavior analysis orschool psychology) Experience within a leadership position demonstrating a recordof success achieving clearly defined outcomes.
