Our Behavior Technicians work as valued members of our teams to provide individualized services in a 1:1 teaching format to individuals with disabilities. ABA Effects Clinic is able to provide all of the necessary training you will need to further your career in ABA, as well as opportunities to grow with us through professional development opportunities. Our training program will provide you with all the tools you will need to be successful as you learn to apply and implement behavior analytical techniques under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Work 1:1 with children and young adults with autism and/or assist a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) by applying evidence-based behavior analytical techniques that increase communication, self-help and social and play skills Follow treatment plans prescribed by BCBAs while communicating new, relevant information back to BCBAs in a timely manner to help refine plans Train peers and others designated on behavior intervention plans (BIPs) Keep clients motivated by tailoring activities/techniques to their preferences Respond intentionally to challenging behavior by helping clients de-escalate and prompting appropriate skills Assist with assessment procedures Maintain accurate records of client performance/progress via data collection and clinical notes, while adhering to privacy and other requirements Partner with BCBAs and RBTs to build relationships with families by providing effective, relatable information Coordinate with parents, teachers, and other behavior technicians while following confidentiality and professional standards Prepare/create materials for upcoming sessions Support other technicians as needed Help with initiatives outside clinical role as requested Support growth efforts by sharing job postings and participating in community outreach events Help the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with cleaning and sanitizing area(s) throughout the day and at the end of the day. This may include emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, etc… Toilet training and diaper changing may be required Any other duties, as necessary, assigned by clinical staff and/or administrative staff Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required for this position: Basic knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder Patience, positivity, resilience Ability to deliver service in a manner that is fun, engaging, child-centered, mindful, and authentic Ability to productively react to direction in real time Ability to adapt approach based on a client’s needs and profile Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholder types (clients, parents, BCBAs, etc.) Drive to learn and grow as a Behavior Technician Willingness to ask questions and seek guidance as needed Ability to move freely, quickly and frequently from a sitting (on the floor or in a chair) to standing position and to lift up to 25 lbs. routinely Working knowledge of computer technology: Windows operating systems, iOS, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have availability Monday through Friday 8:00am

  • 5:00pm, Monday through Friday 9:00am
  • 1:00pm, or Monday through Friday 1:00pm
  • 5:00pm (additional hours maybe necessary) 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent Must have reliable transportation to travel to clinic and/or client homes Be able to pass a criminal background check and/or drug screening Certificate of Completion for 40
