PRN, no guaranteed hours Qualifications Registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic MedicalSonographers (ARDMS) – Successful completion of one registrypertinent to the department beyond physics (options include OB,abdominal, neuro, breast, pediatric, and vascular) Health ServicesBCLS – Basic life support (Certification forHealthcare Providers) Preferred Qualifications 1 or more years of experience.
Physical Requirements:
PhysicalRequirements Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels,assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment andsupplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients,and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as wellas hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, andissues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergencysituations. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex anddelicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includesfrequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care,accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transferpatients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies andequipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to andincluding heavy items. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patientsand obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. Thisincludes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, includingheavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms(full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.) May be expected to stand in a stationary position for anextended period of time.
