Required Qualifications:

Oneyear’s recent experience as an EP Lab Tech Current BLS (AHA/ ARC)

Certification ARRT, RCES, or RCIS Certification Current ACLSCertification Preferred Qualifications:

Valid RadiologicTechnologist license in compliance within state regulations PALS orENPC Certifications Other certifications and licenses may berequired for this position

Summary:

The Electrophysiology (EP) LabTech is responsible for assisting in electrophysiology studies,cardiac ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, andother specialized procedures within the EP lab. This role involvespreparing patients for procedures, operating and troubleshooting EPlab equipment, monitoring patient responses, and maintaining a safeand efficient working environment. The EP Lab Tech plays a crucialrole in supporting cardiac mapping, ablations, pacemaker anddefibrillator implantations, and other specialized cardiacinterventions.

Essential Work Functions:

Perform comprehensivenursing assessments for EP lab patients and document findingsaccurately Educate patients and families on electrophysiologyprocedures, pre-procedure expectations, and post-procedure care toensure understanding and informed consent Assist physicians withelectrophysiology studies, ablations, and device implantationsAdminister medications, including conscious sedation, per physicianorders Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and patient responsesthroughout procedures Identify and respond to changes in patientcondition, escalating care as needed Maintain sterile technique andassist with equipment preparation, setup, and troubleshooting tosupport seamless procedural workflow Collaborate with the care teamto develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans Provideimmediate post-procedure care, monitoring complications andensuring stable recovery Adhere to hospital safety protocols,infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards Performother duties as assigned within the scope of practice

RequiredEssential Skills:

Critical thinking, service excellence and goodinterpersonal communication skills The ability to read, write, &communicate in the English language is required Ability toread/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions,and proficiency in PC skills Physical Abilities

  • Remain in astationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs),pushing, pulling, bending Interpersonal Skills
  • To workeffectively with a variety of personnel (professional andancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalismTechnical/Motor Skills
  • Ability to grasp, fine manipulation,pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting withprocedures and/or using department equipment. Mental Requirements
  • Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public,customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able towork under close supervision occasionally as well as workingwithout assistance from other personnel.
