Required Qualifications:
Oneyear’s recent experience as an EP Lab Tech Current BLS (AHA/ ARC)Certification ARRT, RCES, or RCIS Certification Current ACLS(AHA/ARC)
Certification Preferred Qualifications:
Valid RadiologicTechnologist license in compliance within state regulations PALS(AHA/ARC) or ENPC Certifications Other certifications and licensesmay be required for this position
Summary:
The Electrophysiology(EP) Lab Tech is responsible for assisting in electrophysiologystudies, cardiac ablations, pacemaker and defibrillatorimplantations, and other specialized procedures within the EP lab.
This role involves preparing patients for procedures, operating andtroubleshooting EP lab equipment, monitoring patient responses, andmaintaining a safe and efficient working environment. The EP LabTech plays a crucial role in supporting cardiac mapping, ablations,pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, and other specializedcardiac interventions.
Essential Work Functions:
Performcomprehensive nursing assessments for EP lab patients and documentfindings accurately Educate patients and families onelectrophysiology procedures, pre-procedure expectations, andpost-procedure care to ensure understanding and informed consentAssist physicians with electrophysiology studies, ablations, anddevice implantations Administer medications, including conscioussedation, per physician orders Monitor cardiac rhythms,hemodynamics, and patient responses throughout procedures Identifyand respond to changes in patient condition, escalating care asneeded Maintain sterile technique and assist with equipmentpreparation, setup, and troubleshooting to support seamlessprocedural workflow Collaborate with the care team to develop andimplement patient-centered treatment plans Provide immediatepost-procedure care, monitoring complications and ensuring stablerecovery Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection controlguidelines, and regulatory standards Perform other duties asassigned within the scope of practice
Required Essential Skills:
Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonalcommunication skills The ability to read, write, & communicate inthe English language is required Ability to read/comprehend writteninstructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PCskills Physical Abilities
- Remain in a stationary position, moveabout, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bendingInterpersonal Skills
- To work effectively with a variety ofpersonnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positiveattitude and professionalism Technical/Motor Skills
- Ability tograsp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move aboutwhen assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.

- Must be able to cope with frequent contactwith the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines underpressure.
