Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Perfusionist to join their Perfusion Services team. This contract role involves supporting critical cardiovascular surgical procedures across a busy operating schedule. The ideal candidate is confident with complex perfusion techniques and equipment, and committed to excellence in patient outcomes. Orientation and onboarding will be provided for first-time travelers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heart-lung machines and related equipment during cardiac surgeries
- Perform setup, priming, initiation, and weaning of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB)
- Support a variety of cases including CABG, AVR, MVR, and complex aortic procedures
- Apply blood conservation strategies and temperature management techniques
- Ensure accurate patient monitoring, documentation, and compliance with safety protocols
- Provide mechanical circulatory support including ECLS and IABP
- Float within the facility and scope of practice as required
Required Qualifications:
- Active Georgia state license (or Compact if applicable)
- Minimum of 1 year of recent perfusion experience
- BLS certification
- Proficiency with Epic charting system
- Ability to perform procedures such as CPB, cardioplegia, aortic valve replacements, and ECLS
