Description Summary:
Operates all Cath lab equipment and digitalprocessing equipment. Performs all Cath lab duties such as scrubassistant, X-ray equipment operation and digital processing asindicated. Contributes to the general operation of the departmentby picking up supplies, stocking supplies, and keeping the workarea orderly. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growthand development to perform procedures on and assist in the care ofthe adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient. A current stateissued Radiology Technology license will be required for theseindividuals prior to employment. Specialization can be obtained inany of the following modalities with training and activeparticipation in all of the following modalities: DiagnosticCardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Peripheral Angiography,Permanent Pacemaker Implantation, Automatic Internal CardiacDefibrillator Implantation.

- Assures the quality andacquisition of Cardiac Cath digital images.
- Positions the cathlab table and sets angles.
- Assists physicians during cardiaccatheterization procedures by preparing the equipment, catheters,and medications, and ensuring everything is sterile.
- Monitorspatients’ vital signs and hemodynamic data by keeping a close eyeon patients’ heart rate, blood pressure, and other vital signsduring procedures.
- Operates imaging equipment using fluoroscopymachines and other imaging devices to capture clear images of theheart and blood vessels.
- Maintains a sterile environment andprepares the catheterization suite. Ensures a safe and sanitaryenvironment for procedures.
- Educate patients aboutcatheterization procedures by explaining the procedure to patientsbeforehand and answering any questions they have.
- Other duties asassigned.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school ofRadiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalentrequired.
- Bachelor’s of Science Degree preferred.
- LouisianaState Radiologic Technology (LSRT) required in Louisiana.
- MedicalRadiologic Technologist (MRT) or Louisiana State RadiologicTechnology (LSRT) license in the state of employment is required.
- BLS required.
- ARRT preferred.
- ACLS preferred.
