Providers at Children’s Heart Clinic of Louisiana have thorough knowledge and experience in systematic evaluation of patient history and tailor the medical technology to serve exclusively individual needs. We offer comprehensive assessment and medical management for all forms of congenital and acquired heart disease in children, teenagers and young adults. We also specialize in comprehensive fetal cardiology assessment and counseling.

Responsibilities:

• Perform Complete transthoracic echocardiogram in older pediatric and teenagers. Knowledge/ability to perform echo of complex congenital heart disease and ability to perform fetal echocardiography is not expected.
• Perform diagnostic sonographic examinations using ultrasound equipment.
• Evaluate the images for technical quality, ensuring proper identification is recorded.
• Analyze sonograms, synthesizing information and medical history to facilitate diagnostic interpretation.
• Communicate findings to the interpreting physician or healthcare provider as necessary.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines.
• Follow aseptic techniques and infection control practices.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
• Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or registry eligible.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Proficient in performing diagnostic evaluations using ultrasound equipment.
• Familiarity with vital signs monitoring and interpretation.
• Ability to operate and maintain ultrasound equipment effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
