Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accreditedUltrasound Technology program One year of recent experience as anEcho Cardiovascular Technologist Current BLS Certification(AHA/ARC) Valid Ultrasound license in compliance with stateregulations

Preferred Qualifications:

Current Registered DiagnosticMedical Sonographer Certification (ARDMS) Current ARRTCertification in Sonography Current Credential from CardiovascularCredentialing International (CCI) Additional certifications may berequired depending on specialty

Summary:

The Cardiac Sonographerprovides specialized diagnostic care by performing echocardiographyto assess cardiac structure and function. Working independently indiverse clinical settings, the technologist ensures high-qualityimaging, accurate data collection, and patient safety. This roleinvolves patient education on the echocardiography process andactive collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary teams tosupport accurate medical diagnoses.

Essential Work Functions:

Demonstrate expertise in cardiac echocardiography, including theuse of Doppler and 3-D imaging techniques Maintain strongproficiency in operating echocardiography equipment and applyingadvanced imaging techniques specific to cardiac assessments Reviewpatient history and verify orders to ensure appropriateexaminations are conducted Educate patients and/or family membersabout the echocardiography procedures addressing questions if theyarise Identify, correct, and document imaging artifacts usingecho-specific methods to ensure diagnostic quality Maintainsaccurate patient records and documentation in compliance withinstitutional policies and regulatory standards Collaborateeffectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimizepatient outcomes Adhere to infection control protocols and maintaina safe work environment Work efficiently in fast-paced andpotentially stressful environments, maintaining composure andprofessionalism Follow directions from supervisors and comply withfacility policies, procedures, and standards Perform other dutiesas assigned within the scope of practice for
