Job Summary:
The technologist is responsible for assisting physicians within the Cath Lab to ensure quality and efficient completion of invasive cardiovascular procedures. Maintains good interpersonal skills and proficiency in operating specialized medical equipment. The technologist is also responsible for providing patient education and quality patient care.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED Required Certification/Licensures Requirements:
Must obtain and maintain BLS/CPR certification.
Experience/Qualifications/Skills:
2-3 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience or equivalent is preferred. On-the-job training is available if needed. Must be able to be on-call, which includes weekends and holidays as needed. Must live within a 30-minute response time.
Language/Communication Skills:
English Required. Multilingual capabilities enhance the ability to perform this job. Must have the ability to speak effectively and professionally to all staff, management, and all outside individuals at all levels from elementary to professional.
Mathematical Skills:
Skill in adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals without a calculator. Skills in performing operations with units such as cup, pint, and quart; inch, foot, yard; ounce and pound. Knowledge of the metric system units (length, area, volume, capacity, mass and weight) and U.S. equivalents. Skill in computing ratios, rates and percentages.
Reasoning Ability:
Must have the ability to apply non-judgmental reasoning capabilities whenever necessary when dealing with patients, visitors, and staff.
Critical thinking skills a must:
