Check out this video and learn more and discover the “Power ofWe.” As an Echo Sonographer Lead at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supportingour imaging team, ensuring our patients receive the best careby: Leads the work of the associates in the department. Implementsdirectives related to adjusting staffing levels based on serviceneeds and volumes. Acts as a resource and provides technicalsupport. Rounding on patients and staff. Follow up withfamilies/patients. Participates and leads improvement initiatives and implementationof new exam procedures. Teaches new and evolving technologies.
Coordinates orientation and training of new associates. Ensuresstaff competency through proper training techniques and conductsquality audits. Participates in problem solving to address issues relating topatient safety, care and service. Supports and promotes effectiveworking relations and works effectively as part of adepartment/unit team and interdepartmentally to facilitate thatdepartments ability to meet its goals and objective. Collaborateswith department leadership team to coordinate care with otherdepartments and promote the highest level of patient care andsatisfaction. May participate in human resource functions. May participate in theinterview process and provides feedback to leadership team oncandidates. Provides education/training and performance feedbackfor associates in the department. Participates in policy andprocedure development. Presents and documents staff meetings asrequired. Monitors supply and equipment inventory. Notifies leadership teamof needed equipment repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance.
Participates in leading quality and performance improvementinitiatives. Ensures compliance with applicable regulatoryguidelines, accreditation standards, and established departmentalpolicies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program,safety, environmental and infection control standards. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent RDCS
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or RCS
- RegCardiac Sonographer.
New graduate hires must obtain registry within 18 months ofhire Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP)course completion card from the American Heart Association Three (3) years relevant clinical experience Preferred Qualifications Associates degree ACLS Prior experience working with students and leadershipexperience
Physical Requirements:
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels,assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment andsupplies
- and•Frequent interactions with patient care providers,patients, and visitors that require employee to verballycommunicate as well as hear and understand spoken information,alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularlyduring emergency and•Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complexand delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
This includesfrequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care,accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc
- and-Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transferpatients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies andequipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to andincluding heavy items
- and•Need to walk and assist withtransporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributingsupplies and equipment.
This includes pushing/pulling gurneys andportable equipment, including heavy items. Often required tonavigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords onthe floor, etc)
- and•May be expected to stand in a stationaryposition for an extended period of time.
