Overview Cardiac Sonographers are eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $15,000(Full-Time New Hire). The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for daily operations of theecho lab, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures,and quality improvement. The sonographer maintains a high standardof medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increaselevel of understanding and knowledge of the anatomy and pathology.

The sonographer is proficient in performing simple and complexechocardiograms, not limited to other emergency or Cardiologistassisted procedures (i.e. pericardiocentesis, ect) pediatricechocardiograms, stress echo, and Transesophogeal. The sonographershould have knowledge in diagnostic digital images and hemodynamicdata for physician interpretation. Work closely with Cardiologistto obtain optimal echocardiography quality. Qualifications Education:

High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year /Associate Degree, preferred. Graduate from a formal CardiovascularProgram that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation ofAllied Health Education Programs, required.

Experience:

One year, preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

Registered Cardiac Sonographer,credentials RDCS, required. CPR Certification, required. Additional Skills (required): Ability to effectively operate sonographic equipment. Ability to evaluate echocardiogram in order to acquireappropriate diagnostic information. Ability to shift workload to meet patient needs. Ability to use independent judgment to acquire the optimumechocardiogram information in each examination performed. Ability to follow established departmental procedures. Ability to work efficiently and cope with emergencysituations. Must demonstrate thorough knowledge of echocardiographyinterpretation, echocardiography skills, and considerableechocardiography abilities. Communication skills and sensitivity to patient needs. Ability to interpret information to identify each patient’srequirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs.
