Position SummaryA CardiacSonographer/Echocardiographer is a credentialed medicalprofessional with academic and clinical experience to use imagingtechnology to help physicians diagnose heart problems in patients.

They operate ultrasound equipment that provides moving 2-D or 3-Dimages of the heart and its chambers. The scope of practiceincludes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, forwhich the individual has received education, clinical experienceand completed ARDMS- RDCS and/or RVT or

CCI- RCS

registration,which is the standard of practice in Ultrasound.

MinimumRequirementsHigh school or equivalent (or higher)Current AmericanHeart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification isrequiredFor ECU Health Medical Center, current ARDMS (RDCS or RVT)or CCI (RSC) registration/certification is required.

For ECU Healthcommunity hospitals, ARDMS (RDCS or RVT) or CCI (RSC) registrationor must be registry eligible with registration obtained within 18months of date of hire.0 years of experience as Cardiac and/or

Vascular SonographerOther InformationPrimary Shift:

PRN (asneeded); DayMonday – FridayHours may vary, but would be between8:00am – 5:00pm up to 40 hours a week.
