Purpose:
In addition to performing imaging procedures at an advanced level, coordinates workflow, assists with projects and coordinates educational activities. Functions as a working technologist and distributes workload to ensure efficient operations.
Responsibilities:
Has working knowledge of instrumentation and can troubleshoot issues concerning processes or workflow. Assures the maintenance of lab equipment, coordinating PM and repairs with BioTronics. Performs ultrasound diagnostic examinations in accordance with Level I and Level II Advanced sonographer. Monitors quality assurance projects and assists in the development of exam protocols along side of or in place of advanced sonographers and communicates results back to departmental leadership. Leads accreditation activities. Leads orientation and training for new hires, students and other medical personnel; ensures competencies are completed in the required time frame. Responsible for offering remediation with sonographers when necessary. Keeps current with industry standards and works with system partners to improve quality. Assists in talent acquisition interviews for successful recruitment of sonographer candidates and provides feedback for annual performance reviews. Assumes the leadership role in the absence of the supervisor. Coordinates daily workflow and schedule of the department while maintaining staffing levels based on, but not limited to, call offs, vacations, patient volumes, and training needs. Completion of formal training in an accredited ultrasound program or professional equivalent required. 3 years of ultrasound experience required. Performance review consistent with minimum of Strong/Solid performance on last performance review.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
