Required Qualifications:

Oneyear of recent experience as a CVOR surgical tech Current BLSCertification (AHA/ ARC)

Preferred Qualifications:

CST ornationally recognized equivalent certification Other certificationsand licenses may be required for this position

Summary:

CVORsurgical technologists facilitates the safe and effective executionof cardiovascular surgical procedures under the supervision of thesurgeon. They are responsible for preparing the operating room,maintaining sterile environments, ensuring equipment functionality,and anticipating the needs of the surgical team to maximize patientsafety and procedural efficiency.

Essential Work Functions:

Set upthe operating room prior to surgical procedures Stock surgicalsupplies and inspect surgical machines and equipment to ensureproper functionality prior to procedures Assist in Transportingpatients to and from surgery as required Collaborate with surgeons,anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and the surgical team to delivercoordinated care Anticipating the surgeon’s needs and efficientlypassing instruments are essential for maintaining procedural flowHandle specimens with precision and care to maintain diagnosticintegrity and follow institutional protocols Collaborate with otherhealth team members to ensure seamless surgical workflow Maintainsterility by cleaning and sterilizing instruments and equipment incompliance with infection control standards Utilize data fromsurgical preference cards for the surgical procedure and surgeonMaintain proficiency in cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgicalprocedures, including open and closed heart surgeries Perform otherduties as assigned within the scope of practice Adhere to hospitalsafety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatorystandards

Required Essential Skills:

Critical thinking, serviceexcellence and good interpersonal communication skills The abilityto read, write, & communicate in the English language is requiredAbility to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbalinstructions, and proficiency in PC skills Physical Abilities

• Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment(50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending Interpersonal Skills
• Towork effectively with a variety of personnel (professional andancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalismTechnical/Motor Skills
• Ability to grasp, fine manipulation,pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting withprocedures and/or using department equipment. Mental Requirements
• Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public,customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able towork under close supervision occasionally as well as workingwithout assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contendwith irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuousconcentration to detail Sensory
