Performs a variety of technical procedures that require theutilization of specialized angiographic equipment for the deliveryof interventional procedures. Essential duties and responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned. Under thesupervision of the Administrative Manager, Imaging Services and/orDiagnostic Manager, performs a wide variety of technical andprofessional duties utilizing complex imaging equipment to producequality IR images as requested for subsequent interpretation by theradiologist. All duties are performed according to departmental andorganizational policies and procedures., Promotes serviceexcellence in all interactions as outlined in the Key Behaviors inthe YNHHS Core Success Factors. Operates specialized radiographic equipment fortechnique selection, filming, and processing of specializedradiographic images. 1.1 Operates all special procedure equipmentand angiographic injectors and associated patient monitoringequipment in accordance with manufacturers instructions as observedby supervisor. 2. Employs special imaging techniques to enhance thediagnostic quality of the radiographic image. 2.1 Performsradiographs with a minimum occurrence of errors through theselection of appropriated technical factors. 3. Utilizesangiographic catheters and guide wires as required. 3.1 Assistswith the selection and preparation of catheters and guide wiresaccording to departmental protocols as indicated by physicianfeedback and supervisory observation. 4. Performs patient careprior to procedures. 4.1 Always thoroughly explains the procedureto the patient as indicated by patient feedback and supervisoryobservation. 5. Responsible for the scheduling/coordination ofpatient scheduling. 5.1 Schedules both in-patient and out-patientprocedures in accordance with department protocols as indicated byrandom review of patient schedules. 6. Maintains records asdirected. 6.1 Completes appropriate forms at completion of allspecial procedures in accordance with department guidelines asindicated by random supervisory review of forms. 7. Transfers andpositions patients and provides immobilization as needed. 7.1Controls the positioning and transferring of patients undergoingspecial radiographic examinations in accordance with departmentalprotocols as observed by supervisor. 8. Assists with theinstruction of special techniques for staff and residents asdirected. 8.1 Instructs staff members in special techniques and useof specialized instrumentation/equipment in accordance withdepartment protocols as observed by supervisor. 9. Assists with theprocurement, inventory and storage of supplies. 9.1 Reviewsinventory levels periodically to assure adequate levels ofinventories as observed by supervisor. 10. Plans and/or implementscare for assigned patients. 10.1 Demonstrates knowledge ofdevelopmental stages from adolescence to old age and appliesdevelopment theories/concepts when planning and implementing carefor the adult patient as observed by supervisor and as indicated byfeedback from staff. 11. Types all applicable information into thecomputer system. 11.1 Types all demographic patient informationfrom the consult into department computer according to computerprogram and department protocol with no more than five errors peryear as observed by supervisor. 12. Contributes to an effectivequality management and quality control program for assigned areathat is consistent with overall departmental/hospital qualitymanagement plan. 12.1 Monitors Q.A. activities in accordance tosection plan as observed by supervisor. 13.
